The Introductory or the Preparatory Course in Carnatic Vocal first covers the basic aspects of pitching (matching the students’ voice to a particular scale of tune). The students are then taught to identify the position of the notes, merging their voice to the same and then starting their basic lessons from the syllabus. In this course the student also progresses the learning towards Middle Octaves(Madhasthyai), High Octaves(TaraSthyai).
